GitDownloader (“we”, “the tool”) is a static website that helps you download a single folder or file from GitHub as a ZIP archive. This policy explains what information is handled when you use it.
No account, no uploads
You do not need to register. The tool runs entirely in your web browser. Repository contents are fetched directly from GitHub by your browser and packaged into a ZIP locally — file data is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
GitHub personal access tokens
If you download from a private repository, you may paste a personal access token. The token is saved only in your browser’s local storage and is sent exclusively to api.github.com with your requests. We never see, transmit or store your token on any server. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
Log files and analytics
Our hosting provider may keep standard technical log files (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and operation. If analytics are enabled, they are used only to understand aggregate, non-identifying usage.
Cookies and advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. This site may display advertising provided by Google AdSense.
External links
The tool links to github.com and other third-party services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those external sites.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data directly, there is usually nothing of yours to delete. For any question about this policy, contact us at the email in the footer.
